Any virus outbreak in the "in person" worshipping community will necessitate the

closing of the church until further notice when it is deemed safe to re-enter.

The Council understands if you do not feel comfortable attending in person worship just yet. We respect your decision and invite you to tune into the service (via the church’s website at Youtube livestream link) as it will be live streamed each Sunday.

Hope to see you there!

Peace be with you.

In all circumstances, never forget that we still are the church! As Martin Luther proclaimed in his most recognizable Reformation hymn, “A Mighty Fortress,” God’s truth forever shall abide. Even COVID –19 has no power over us.

From BATTLE BORNE … Thank you for your donation of $200 to Battle Borne on

August 19th, 2021. We are so very grateful for your support of our efforts in the Lehigh Valley. As you may know, Battle Borne was founded to help veterans find their path to recovery by connecting them with the resources available in their community. Thank you so much for your generous contribution. We are grateful for your support of our mission, and our veterans here in the Lehigh Valley.

Many thanks to all those who donated to the 18th annual Stockings for Soldiers collection. Rita Frey delivered the items to the Unangst Tree Farm. Some may have donated items from the wish list through Amazon and others may have sent a financial contribution to help with postage. We had a successful drive for a very worthwhile cause, even with short notice.

On behalf of the Tricky Tray Committee, we would like to thank everyone who helped or contributed in any way. We also want to thank all those who attended and supported the event, which was a great success.

We raised a profit of $2,705.25, which will be donated to the fund for the church Painting Project. The work will begin in early spring 2022. This was recently approved by the Church Council.

The best part was we also welcomed many visitors from the community. We got to meet some new people and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Thank you to all our Frontline and Essential Workers!

FOR 2021—2022 UPCOMING EVENTS

The new 2021 Church Directory is available and a copy can be picked up in the Narthex. If you are unable to pick one up in person, please contact the church office at 610-838-0731.

Chalisters are needed … When we go back to offering altar Communion, we will need chalisters to help serve. Please sign up on the bulletin board in the Narthex if interested. The primary responsibility would only be to pour the grape juice chalice as we will no longer be offering the sacrament by common cup.

Acolytes are needed … All interested youth (especially Confirmands) are asked to see the sign-up sheet in the Narthex. Thanks! Pastor Lisa will offer instruction when a list of volunteers has been made.

ADVENT SEASON ~ Are you interested in doing a family Advent reading and lighting of the Advent candle this year? Please see the sign-up sheet on the Narthex bulletin board.

Would you like to spread some Christmas cheer? Please consider sending a Christmas card to the residents of our local senior living facilities to brighten their holidays. This would be a great activity for youth to hand make cards. Please address your cards to:

Any Resident

Weston Rehabilitation & Nursing Center

1896 Leithsville Road

ZACHARY FOGEL ~ Dear Sir/Madam:

Hello. My name is Zachary Fogel from Boy Scout Troop 334. I have been a member of New Jerusalem Church since birth. I was wondering if you would be interested in helping to support my Eagle Scout Project. I am in need of a donation of materials and a Thrivent Action Team to complete my project.

My project is to clean out the basement of our Church, to get rid of everything that we don’t want, and convert it to a usable storage area. My plans are to paint the basement walls and build/reinforce the existing shelving. The supplies that I’m in need of are paint, lumber, wood screws, and anchor bolts.

I will recognize your donation at the Dedication Ceremony at the church when the project is completed, in the church bulletin, the church newsletter, and at my Eagle Scout ceremony. Thank you for your consideration.

Yours in Scouting,

Zachary Fogel

You can contact Zachary at rrfogel@ptd.net or call 610-349-2586 with your support of his Eagle Scout project.
