Pastor Lisa will be holding office hours at the church on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Please give me a call ahead of time if possible so that we can arrange for a time to meet and speak. To note … Hershey kisses are always available on my desk if you, like I, have a need for chocolate! I can also be reached via text messages to my cell phone, Facebook Messenger, or email (MizLKB@aol.com). Please understand if sometimes I cannot answer a call promptly. Kindly leave me a voice message and I will contact you as soon as I am able. ~ Pastor Lisa

All around us are the sights and sounds of the holidays ... twinkling lights,
decorated lawns, porches, and trees, bustling shopping malls, the rhythm of the
Salvation Army bell, glowing window candles, warm ovens baking batches of
delicious cookies, stockings hung with care, festive caroling – not to mention
huge crowds and jammed parking lots. It’s a lot of input for our already
stressed-out senses!
If you are in need of a little break and respite from these busy days, I invite
you to join the Hellertown Area Ministerium on Sunday, December 21st at 7pm
as we gather at Lower Saucon UCC Church (1375 3rd Ave. in Hellertown – off
of Easton Rd.) for a “Longest Night” service. Together, we will have a time for
more meaningful reflection of the season as well as prayer and song. It can be
helpful to claim these quiet moments so we can collectively catch our breath
and honor the Savior in our midst. Light refreshments will follow the service.
And just a reminder, too, particularly if you are running out of ideas of
“what” to give to “whom,” our national church offers the opportunity to
purchase living gifts to help others around the world. Check out the ELCA Good
Gifts catalog online. Good gifts include chicks, piglets, honeybees, goats, cows,
medical supplies, school uniforms and education supplies, microloans to start a
small business, mosquito netting, safe water access, and so much more! These
gifts bless the recipient so that they, in turn, may pass on a blessing to a neighbor
and also be provided with steady access to food, milk, sanitation, employment,
and a hope-filled future. -- As always, thank you for generously thinking of
others, especially during this season known for gift giving.
