Pastor Lisa's Message August 2026

Dear church friends ~
It doesn’t take much to brighten someone’s day ... a smile ... a kind word ... holding
a door ... letting someone merge into traffic ... taking a few extra moments to really
listen when another is speaking ... visiting someone who is lonely. These small acts may
seem insignificant, but they often become the moments people remember most.
In a world that often feels hurried, impatient, and divided, kindness is one of the most
powerful ways Christians reflect the very love of Christ. The apostle Paul reminds us in
his letter to the Ephesians, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another,
as God in Christ has forgiven you.”
Kindness is more than simply being polite. It is consciously choosing compassion over
criticism, patience over irritation, and grace over judgment. Sometimes, kindness means
speaking words of encouragement while, at other times, it means remaining silent when
harsh words would only cause more hurt. Often, it means seeing someone who feels
invisible and reminding them that they matter.
The most beautiful thing about kindness is that it’s contagious! (It’s a good bug to
catch!) One thoughtful gesture inspires another. A smile is returned. An encouraging
word is passed along. God’s love is quietly spreading from one person to another in ways
we may never fully see.
Let’s look for regular opportunities to practice intentional kindness so that our church
may be known -- not only for what we believe -- but for how generously we love.

Blessings to all! ~ Pastor Lisa Borrell
