Apple's Preschool News

Have you seen the article about Apple’s Preschool featured in the Saucon Source at, Learning is Fun at Apple’s Preschool by JOSH POPICHAK | May 18, 2018.  Remember when learning was fun?  If you’ve forgotten when that was, a visit to Apple’s Preschool in Lower Saucon Township might remind you.  The small non-denominational preschool at New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church on Apples Church Road prides itself on educating children ages 3 to 5—including pre-kindergartners—in a setting that excites young minds and encourages their curiosity.  To read more, please go to  Registration is still open for the fall, please contact Shani for more information.

Apple's Preschool 2018–2019 school year will be begin on Tuesday, September 4, 2018!

Learning is fun and we are so excited to meet you—see you in September!

The teachers, children, and their families would like to say how thankful we are for some wonderful changes made to our classroom in July.  We thank Schoolhouse Christian Preschool, previously of Christ Lutheran Church of Lower Saucon, for their generous donation to us from some of their funds after closing their doors.  Part of that money and proceeds from our Fun Pasta Fundraiser were used to purchase and install a much needed and appreciated air conditioning unit.

The ministry and legacy of Schoolhouse Christian Preschool will continue through the comfort from the heat, allowing us to enjoy cooler temperatures and summer programs moving into the future.  We appreciated very much the research, scheduling, and installation by Bill Bender and those that assisted with this project.

A big thank you also goes to Bill Young, giving the preschool bathroom a makeover.  He replaced the lighting and exhaust fan along with repairing the heater cover and painting the whole room.  The classroom is coming together for our first day of school on September 4th!

We are so blessed!

We look forward to a year filled with many new learning experiences.  For more information, click here to see our church website's Preschool tab introducing you to our teachers, school days and times, and our philosophy.

Siblings in Christ,

I wanted to take a moment this month to say, Thank You!  Thank you to all who helped keep me and my family fed over my maternity leave!  Thank you for all the cards and gifts celebrating Marcus' arrival!  Thank you for your prayers for Marcus.  We are thankful for his clean bill of health.  Thank you for continuing to support me as your pastor.  Thank God for this awesome community and for all God has done through us!

As it says in one of our Vacation Bible School (VBS) songs this year:

Everything I have I owe it all to you,

For everything you are and all you do, Lord.

I could write a book, fill every single page

With a million reasons.

Thank you, Lord.

Peace in Jesus Christ, Pastor Lauren Applegate

Current Confirmation Parents & Families

You are invited to a Confirmation Visioning Session!

Message from Pastor Lauren:  Over the past two years, and especially this year, due to situations in the life of the church requiring the attention of myself and many other leaders, the expectations for Confirmation have been forced to change.  I am thankful that despite these changes, God is still at work in each of the youth, and I am thankful that I can see the fruits of that work.  I can see it when the youth that are currently preparing for their Confirmation are attending and participating in the leadership of worship.  I can see it in the pictures of those who attended the Synod youth Confirmation Day to learn about how the church we are a part of is connected to God’s work around the world.  I can see it when the youth ask the sometimes complex and typically meaningful questions about the church and who God is.  I can see it when I ask them to consider how God is at work in their own lives.  I can see it when the youth gather and spend time with one another.  God is good, and even though the programming of Confirmation has changed, is changing, and will probably continue to change, God still shows up.  You are invited to participate in a visioning session for the future of the Confirmation Program. Your child(ren) is(are) also invited to be in attendance, for their input and participation is of the utmost importance.  It is my hope that we can decide what is expected for the youth who will be Confirmed on October 28, 2018--Reformation Sunday, as well as those who will be confirmed in May of 2019 (or October, if we decide to continue on with this year’s pattern change) and beyond.

When:   Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.

Where:  The Upper Room

Pizza, salad and drinks will be provided.
