Apple's Preschool News

After enjoying our classroom Easter parties and Easter Egg Hunts in March, we are all excited to begin the month of April with the hope of warmer weather arriving.  We will be ordering our caterpillars soon so that we may watch them transform into beautiful butterflies.

The Pre-K classes will be attending the play "Beauty and the Beast" on April 19th.  We have also begun our King and Queen of the Jungle weeks.  This allows one student from both the AM and PM class to be a special snack helper, line leader, lead us in prayer, first to take part in an activity or game, etc.  They also get a very cool poster telling us all about them.

We are continuing our Reading Awareness Program into the month of April.  We have had a lot of Mystery Readers come in and share their reading talents with the children.   If you would like to be a Mystery Reader, please let Miss Shani know.  We would love to have you join us.

We look forward to a new year in 2018 filled with many new learning experiences.  You can also find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ApplesChurchPreschool.

Our Lemon Tree Fundraiser was a great success!  We raised $343.00 to be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital!  We had lots of fun watching our lemon tree grow and produce lemons.  Then we had more fun with our lemon baskets and 19 delicious lemon desserts!  Congratulations to Linda Weaver, Carolyn Ziegenfuss, and Zoey Bokan for winning the baskets.  Please see a list of all the winners posted in the Upper Room.  THANK YOU to all of you for making this possible!

Message from Phyllis & Jere Reiss  ~ Our child, Fernando, who New Jerusalem Church sponsored lives in Honduras and has moved out of their service area.

We have chosen another child, Ronald David Perez Gonzales.  He is called David by his family.  He lives with his grandparents,  brother, and uncle in the agricultural part of Honduras.  David will be 6 years old on August 17, 2018.  His grandfather is a farmer earning $60.00 a month.

Our monthly sponsorship has been transferred to David.  Please see the bulletin board in the Upper Room for more information, a picture of David, and his mailing address.

Cross Training Lenten Outreach Project ~ We are collecting your and your children's thoughts on cross-training this year.  If you would please list the age and grade your child is currently in, that would be helpful.  If you have more than one child and each child has different opinions, would you please list the thoughts of the particular age bracket child with their thoughts.  If you haven't been participating in the cross-training, if you wouldn’t mind please share a little background information as to what's prevented you from participating this year.  What would they be interested in that you would bring them to?  We would really appreciate your feedback.  I won't disclose who says what, I'm just going to tally things together and we'll be discussing this at a future Christian Education meeting in April.  If you're okay with including your name that's fine.  If you want to drop off a paper with the information and no names that's okay too.  Please put my name (Kathy Fenstermacher) on the envelope.  Thank you, Kathy Fenstermacher
